"Mind" your own problems

After discussing about modern psychology and some experiments conducted by some psychologists and neuroscientists to study human mind.I will discuss psychological problem of depression. And how can "spiritual teachings" help. Just remember one important thing,to understand these "spiritual teachings", you have to "realize" it yourself.I have not "realized" it, but I advise you to use some meditation techniques or maybe some other methods or processes so that you can have a first hand experience. It is something like "science communicators" do , like the "DIY" thing so you understand science through some easy experiments with items that we generally use in our day-to-day life.

Talking about psychological problems,as an example you can see a report here about increasing number of suicide cases in India (mainly Delhi). Now I will include "discourses" from "Isha Foundation". As you can see in this article by isha foundation, suicidal thoughts mean that there is something more important in your life, than life itself. One more important factor is that many people get frustrated by "how society (or people) judges them" , people may spread rumours or they will taunt you, pass indecent comments etc. Then you start experiencing something called as inferiority complex that ultimately leads to depression or in extreme cases suicide. In another discussion by "spiritual master", he describes this kind of behaviour as slavery. After all,"suicidal thoughts" are just thoughts. In another discussion "spiritual master " describes , how some people take their thoughts very seriously .In this discourse "spiritual master" compares fuctioning of "human mind" with functioning of other human organs like hands ,limbs etc, because most of the human beings have full control on the movement of their hands and limbs (most of the time). But for some human beings it is not true for their mind, they are not able to use it on their will, instead they become a victim of it.I know psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience and neurology are science streams and have evolved over time with improvement in research techniques and technology. For example , I look at one of the most common anti depressant (chemical not the exact medicine) serotonin. It is a part of biochemistry of brain. It has taken decades of research and clinical trials to reach here. But "may be" their can be some easy solution to it.

After discussing the problem of depression ,I will look into some possible solutions .Psychologists study mind and behaviour of others (volunteers and patients). Can there be a method by which any human can "witness" or "be attentive" enough to observe his (or her) own mind and behaviour. In this article by isha foundation, the "spiritual master" advises you to pay attention to yourself instead of beleiving scriptures, holy books, philosophies etc.I will discuss history of some philosophies about existense of something "beyond mind" and how we can reach that state by "emptying our mind".I will first give example from an english translation of "Tao Te Ching", avoiding unnecessary description of historical and academic importance. You can check it here. AS I was looking for simmilarities.
